Capture controls

Ambient can use sources such as screen, microphone, system audio, keyboard activity, active app/window, accessibility context, and approved agent conversations. Availability depends on platform, organization policy, and system permissions. Turning off a source stops future capture from that source. The master Start/Pause control stops or resumes all enabled sources without changing the individual toggles.

Exclusions

Add apps and websites that Ambient should skip. Built-in exclusions and platform protections still apply. Check exclusions whenever you change browsers, applications, or work environments.

Storage and processing

  • Standard deployments keep capture artifacts and processed context locally and use remote services only as configured for processing and integrations.
  • Local files and exported backups are not currently described as encrypted by Ambient.
  • Recorder-mode deployments can upload approved raw capture sources to organization-managed infrastructure for later processing. On-device exclusions still run before an artifact exists.
  • Uploading in recorder mode does not immediately delete the local artifact; local retention and the organization rollout determine its lifecycle.

Connected services

If enabled, integrations can provide read-only context from services such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion, Todoist, Granola, or Toggl Track. Integrations do not automatically enable recording sources, and recording permissions do not automatically connect integrations.
Your organization determines its capture, processing, sharing, and retention policy. Ask your rollout owner when a setting or data destination is unclear.
